Elemental Abundances of the Hot Atmosphere of Luminous Infrared Galaxy Arp 299

Hot atmospheres of massive galaxies are enriched with metals. Elemental abundances measured in the X-ray band have been used to study chemical enrichment supernova remnants, elliptical galaxies, groups and clusters galaxies. Here we measure elemental hot atmosphere luminous infrared galaxy Arp 299 observed XMM-Newton. To atmosphere, use a multi-temperature thermal plasma model, which provides better fit Reflection Grating Spectrometer data. The Fe/O abundance ratio is subsolar, while those Ne/O Mg/O slightly above solar. Core-collapse supernovae (SNcc) dominant metal factory elements like O, Ne, Mg. We find some deviations between patterns theoretical ones from simple model. One possible explanation that stars $M_{\star}\gtrsim23-27~M_{\odot}$ might not explode as SNcc enrich atmosphere. This accordance missing progenitors problem, where very $M_{\star}\gtrsim18~M_{\odot}$ clearly detected. It also nucleosynthesis yields underestimated.
